Seeking
Seeking exceptional singers with a wide range who have excellent comedic timing, and are good movers. All characters are 20s to early 60s in age.

Preparation
Prepare a brief comic monologue + one comedic song preferably in style of one of the composers spoofed in the show, i.e., Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, or Kander & Ebb.

Bring shee music; Accompanist provided

Other Dates
First rehearsal: April 11, 2016. Runs May 6 - 21, 2016 (10 performances).

AEA members without appointments will be seen throughout the audition day, as time permits.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together (even if previously emailed one)

Meter parking available on the street and in the lot across from the theater. No need to feed the parking meters after 6:00pm.

Breakdown

In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form: Rodgers and Hammerstein (complete with dream ballet), Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Kander & Ebb. The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can’t pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue?

All characters are 20s to early 60s in age. Seeking exceptional singers with a wide range who have excellent comedic timing, and are good movers.

Seeking:

Woman #1
Must have huge range both vocally and physically. Expected to sing alto, mix, belt and soprano. NOTE: This role has been cast. Those auditioning will be considered for possible understudy.

Woman #2
Must have huge range both vocally and physically. Expected to sing alto, mix, belt and soprano. Experience in choreography preferred.

Man #1
Must have huge range, both vocally and physically. Bass to Bari-tenor.

Man #2
Must have huge range, Bari-tenor to Tenor. Excellent dancer/singer with experience in choreography preferred.
