Seeking: Strong, physical actors, with a sense of play: where noted, other specific skills:
[ROBIN HOOD], male, 20-40, any ethnicity. A rough outlaw of high status and a true man of the forest. Must be very physically fit and strong, skilled in stage combat (including sword play), and able to handle some aerial rope work.
[MARION], female, 20-35, any ethnicity. Daughter of the Duke of York. Brave, clever and principled--a force to be reckoned with. Must be a strong actress,as well as a skilled fighter (sword-play), who can almost beat Robin in combat. This actress will also engage in some aerial rope work and other physical activities.
[PIERRE], male, 30-50, any ethnicity. A large man--both physically and in spirit--Marion’s clown and servant. Pierre is our guide through the story, who sometimes speaks in direct address to the audience. This actor must be a strong actor and singer, and a skilled comedian who can access the darker bits as well. A plus if he plays some sort of instrument, but not a must.
[ALICE/ARISTOCRAT/NUN/TOWNSWOMAN], early 20-40, any ethnicity. Marion’s older sister. Materialistic and high-maintenance; everything that Marion is, she is not.
[WILL SCARLETT/DUCK], male, early 20-40, any ethnicity. One of Robin’s band of outlaws. A physically fit actor, who can handle aerial rope work, sword-play/stage combat and other physical activities.
[MUCH MILLER/HORSE], male, early 20-40, any ethnicity. One of Robin’s band of outlaws. A physically fit actor, who can handle aerial rope work, sword-play/stage combat and other physical activities.
[GUY OF GISBORNE/GEORGE LEBRUN/DUKE OF YORK], 20-50, any ethnicity. Prince John’s servant and villain. A strong, fearful actor with high status, able to bring darkness and danger.
[MAKEPEACE, as well as ROBERT SUMMERS/CONFESSOR/TOWNSMAN/FAT MAN/ARISTOCRAT/FRIAR], male, 40-60, any ethnicity. Marion’s guardian.
[PLUG THE DOG, as well as REBECCA SUMMERS/LADY LEBRUN/FAT LADY/NUN], female, 20-40, any ethnicity. Should be a very physical actress.
[JETHRO SUMMERS], male 10-15 to play 12, any ethnicity. Son of a persecuted townsperson, taken prisoner by Prince John. A brave young man. Should have some acrobatic skills.
[SARAH SUMMERS], female, 9-12, any ethnicity. Jethro’s younger sister.
