Seeking the following roles:
JOHN MERRICK
Male 30s – 40s. Is the main character of the play. He suffers from an unknown disease which has deformed his body, isolating him from the rest of society as he earns a living by becoming a side-show attraction. Physical dexterity a must.
FREDERICK TREVES
CAST Male 40 – 50. A brilliant up-and coming surgeon intrigued by Merrick’s disorder. (Considering for possible replacements)
MRS. KENDAL
Female 40 - 50. A kind, free-spirited actress, who travels in high society, befriends and forges a deep bond with Merrick despite his appearance. This role has partial nudity.
CARR GOMM/ CONDUCTOR
Male 40s – 50s. Administrator of the London hospital as well as London train conductor.
ROSS/ BISHOP HOW/ SNORK
Male 50s-60s Male 40s-50s. Seeking versatile actor to play an abusive freak-show manager, a devout bishop, and a hospital worker.
MANAGER/LORD JOHN / Etc
Male late 30s - 40s. A pinhead manager, a shady financial dealer, and several other male roles
MISS SANDWICH/ PRINCESS ALEXANDRA/ PINHEAD /Etc
Female 30s- 50s. Seeking versatile actress to play a nurse, a staunch missionary brought to the hospital to care for Merrick, and various high-society socialites.
