Breakdown
Patricia Highsmith, master of the macabre, is racing to finish her novel when an attractive young man arrives representing her impatient publisher. Anxious to be rid of him and return to self-imposed exile, she attempts to terrorize him into fleeing. But he has a dark agenda of his own and will not leave until the final chapter is written.
Seeking:
Patricia Highsmith: An older woman, (50s or 60s) distinct vestiges of beauty. Tough, Vitriolic, Sharp. Strident. Lonely, Angry, Intellectual, Eventually defeated and vulnerable and frail by life and oncoming death. Funny, Provocative, Brave, Witty, Capricious. The actress we are looking for has to have an empathetic/rounded quality, as well as the courage to be awful and real WIT.
