Breakdown

All performances will be at the cell and will participate in the 1st Irish Theatre Festival.

Set in Windsor Terrace amidst the changing tides of a working-class Irish neighborhood, Stoopdreamer tells the story of three locals whose collective longing for the streets of their youth reveal secrets that may have ultimately stunted their futures.

Written by journalist and playwright Pat Fenton and directed by award-winning director Kira Simring (McGoldrick’s Thread, Hard Times, and The McGowan Trilogy) Stoopdreamer transforms the cell into Farrell's Bar and Grill for an immersive theatrical experience complete with old stories, good company, and strong drinks.

SEEKING:

JIMMY (THE BARTENDER):
55-70 years. Irish American working-class. As legendary as the bar he works at, Jimmy has a heart of gold and a gift for storytelling. Since his father worked behind the bar when Jimmy was a child, he is a large source of knowledge about the changing tides of the neighborhood, having experienced it first-hand through the community coming in and out of Farrell's.

BILLY COFFEY:
55-70 years. An Irish American working-class retired cop from Brooklyn, a high school dropout, caught forever in the memories of his youth. Being much enamored with books, Billy vocalizes he would've much rather been a writer than a cop. Romantically linked to Janice when he was in his early twenties.

JANICE JOYCE:
55-70 years. An Irish American working-class Brooklynite. Growing up in bars throughout her childhood, Janice is easy to get along with, a self-proclaimed tramp and above all else, demands to be treated with respect. Romantically linked to Billy as a teenager.
