PREPARATION
Non-musical auditioners: actors may choose to perform one or more monologues of their choice, read one or more scenes from the season’s plays, or a combination of scene(s) and monologues(s) within the confines of the time allotted.
Musical auditioners: In addition to preparing a brief song, actors may choose to perform one or more monologues of their choice, read one or more scenes from the season’s plays, or a combination of song(s), scene(s) and monologues(s) within the confines of the time allotted. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be available all day.
A reader will be provided for those who wish to read from scripts. Copies of the scripts are available at StageSource (15 Channel Center Street, Suite 103, Boston) for review prior to the audition, and will be available at the audition.

MONA KENT: A temperamental Broadway diva.
JOAN: A big-hearted chorus girl.
HENNESSEY (doubles as Captain): The director.
RUBY: A young, bright-eyed chorus girl from Utah.
DICK: A handsome sailor who happens to be a great songwriter.
LUCKY: A sailor who used to date Joan.
THE CAPTAIN (doubles as Hennessy): The ship's captain and Mona's former lover back in Florida.

SCOTT: White. 30s. Husband of Lavinia. Prickly but sweet at the same time.

ARPAD LASZLO: (14-17) Ambitious and exuberant delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie.
LADISLAV SIPOS: Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.
ILONA RITTER: Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie. She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.
STEVEN KODALY: A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer.
MR. MARACZEK: (50s-60s) Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.

We are casting 2 men and 2 women for this ensemble revue with songs and stories. The ability to play a musical instrument is desirable but not required.

MISS HOLMES
By Christopher M. Walsh
Based on characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle

1st Rehearsal: March 20, 2018. Runs April 5-22, 2018.
SHERLOCK HOLMES: (30s, Female) Private Detective with a strong and quirky personality that bucks the social norms of 1880s London.
DOROTHY WATSON: (30s, Female) A female Doctor in a man’s world (and a novelst) who becomes Sherlock’s partner. A bit more socially aware than Sherlock but equally strong in her own way.
LIZZIE CHAPMAN: (20s) Married to an ethically dubious Scotland Yard inspector, she seems innocent enough but has a serious dark side of her own. You don’t want to cross her.
EUDORA FEATHERSTONE: (50s) Wealthy, grieving mother whose daughter recently died suspiciously. She is self-medicating with laudanum.
MRS. HUDSON: Sherlock’s housekeeper. She doesn’t quite understand Sherlock and Watson and their chosen lifestyles. She’s definitely more conventional than they are.
MYCROFT HOLMES: (30s-40s, Male) Brother of Sherlock. He both supports his sister and thwarts her. His personality is as quirky as hers. He works for the government and has powerful connections.
GREGORY LESTRADE: Upstanding and skilled Scotland Yard Inspector who wants to discover the truth and is willing to buck social norms to do so – within limits.
THOMAS CHAPMAN: (40-ish) An inspector for Scotland Yard. Tough and aggressive. He pushes the limits of the law at every turn and has more than a few dark secrets he works hard to keep covered.
MICHAEL STAMFORD: (30s) A Doctor. He wishes to marry Watson, but can’t quite resolve himself to her desire for a professional career. Very kind and well-intentioned.
EDWIN GREENER: Ex-con. Stooge of Thomas Chapman. Strong (physically). Underneath it all, he’s not a bad person and wants to do what’s right.
REGINALD: (30s) Nephew of Eudora Featherstone. Greasy, unctuous and greedy.
And other ensemble roles. Some roles will be doubled.

THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE

1st rehearsal: April 10, 2018. Runs May 3-20, 2017.
CASEY/GEORGIA MCBRIDE: (mid to late 20s) Casy: Southern. A charismatic and good-looking small town high school football star turned Elvis impersonator; a loyal, loving husband who dreams big, but hasn’t really grown up yet. Georgia: a drag queen with Elvis, country, and rock 'n' roll roots, but ultimately a wholly original creation and a force of nature; sexy, flirtatious, and fierce.
JO: (mid to late 20s; Black) Southern; Casey's wife; a hard-headed realist married to a soft-hearted man. She grounds her husband while he enables her to breathe and dream; tough without being bitchy.
MISS TRACY MILLS: (Male, 40s-50s) An elegant veteran drag queen who honors the history and art of drag and becomes Georgia’s coach and champion. She has a tough exterior but true tenderness underneath.
REXY/JASON: (Male, 30s) Rexy: bitchy in a mean way, but very funny; feisty and sharp-tongued with a dark past; a fairly trashy gal who fancies herself the most sophisticated in the room; thrives on conflict and is a bit of a hot mess, but she has great respect for the history and art of drag. Jason: the sweet best friend of Jo and Casey.
EDDIE: (50s-60s) the easily flustered, hot-headed owner of a struggling dive bar; a bit rough around the edges; still longing for the dimly remembered glory days of high school; later in the play, he becomes an amateur showman who loves the spotlight; cousin to Tracy.

CALENDAR GIRLS

1st rehearsal: May 11, 2018. Runs May 31 – June 17, 2018.
CHRIS: (50s) You want Chris at your party. She will talk to people she doesn’t know, and knows things to say to fill all silences and generate laughter.
ANNIE: (50s) Annie will join in mischief but is at heart more conformist and non-confrontational.
CORA: (around 40) Cora’s past is eclectic, her horizons broadened by having gone to college. She’s been through a lot, but is too resilient to be downtrodden. She is the joker in the pack, but never plays the fool. Her wit is deadpan. Must be able to sing a bit and ideally play basic piano.
JESSIE: (late 60s/70s) Get on the right side of Jessie as a teacher and she’ll be the teacher you remember for life. Get on the wrong side and you will regret every waking hour. Long-married and a risk-taker.
CELIA: (35-50) A woman more at home in a fancy department store than a church hall, but there is a streak of rebelliousness in her as well.
RUTH: (40s) Ruth is eager to please but not a rag doll. She wants to keep everyone happy, and others tend to feel protective of her.
MARIE: (50s). Marie has gradually built the current ‘Marie’ around herself over the years as a defense mechanism. The Women’s Institute is very important to her and, to a large extent, defines her.
JOHN: (50s) John is a human sunflower. Not a saint. Not a hero. Just the kind of man you’d want with you on a long car trip.
ROD: (Chris's husband, 50s) He can give back what he gets, and has a deadpan humour. He drinks a lot but never so much as to have a problem. He would work every hour to make his shop a success.
LAWRENCE: (late 20s) Hesitant without being nerdy, Lawrence is a shy young man with enough wit to make a joke.
LADY CRAVENSHIRE: (60s) Lady Cravenshire really doesn’t mean to be so patronizing, but she comes from another, more elevated, world that the rest of these women.
ELAINE: (20s) Elaine really doesn’t mean to be so patronizing, but she looks at these women as provinical grandmothers.
LIAM: (late 20s) Liam would like to be directing other things than photoshoots for washing powders. He’s not so unprofessional as to let it show, but we can sense a slight weariness at having to deal with these women.
