Preparation
Non-musical auditions: Please prepare a contemporary monologue no more than three minutes in length, or material from one of the season's shows.

Musical auditions: Please prepare a brief song or material from one of the season’s shows. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided on Monday, April 22 ONLY.

A reader will be provided for those who wish to read from scripts. Copies of the scripts are available at StageSource (88 Tremont St., Boston) for review prior to the audition, and will be available at the audition.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

SEMINAR

1st rehearsal: August 27, 2013. Runs September 12–29.

A contemporary comedy about the perils of writing.

IZZY – (20s) Talented writer who catches the eye of Le
onard. Probably Asian.
MARTIN – (20s) Less secure than the others, both financially and artistically.
KATE – (20s) Immediately put on the defensive as an inferior writer.
DOUGLAS – (20s) Nephew of a famous writer. Fairly full of himself, but also talented.
LEONARD – This role is cast.

DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE
adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the novella Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
by Robert Louis Stevenson

1st rehearsal: October 8, 2013. Runs October 24-November 10.

New adaptation of the classic story.

DR. HENRY JEKYLL (probably 40s-50s) – a respected Gentleman of Victorian England obsessed with experimenting at separating the good and bad aspects of his own personality.

ELIZABETH JELKES (30s?) – a working class chambermaid who falls in love with Mr. Hyde

4 OTHER ACTORS (one female, three male) of varying ages will play various roles throughout the play and each will also play Edward Hyde at some point in the piece.

A traditional adaptation of the beloved movie.

DR. PIERCE - Kris Kringle's doctor at the home for the aged

KRIS KRINGLE - the real Santa Claus

FRED GAILEY - (20s-30s) lawyer

DORIS WALKER - (20s-30s) young, professional single mother

MR. SHELLHAMMER - Doris' boss

MISS ADAMS - Macy's employee

MR. MACY - Owner of Macy's

MR. SAWYER - a Santa cynic and psychoanalyst

MR. GIMBLE - Owner of Gimble's

MR. MARA - the DA arguing the case against Santa

JUDGE - the judge

HALLORAN - Judge’s campaign manager

SUSAN WALKER – Doris’ 7-year-old daughter

MARY LENNOX – 10-year-old orphan

ARCHIBALD CRAVEN – Mary’s uncle and lord of Misselthwaite Manor. A misanthropic hunchback

DR. NEVILLE CRAVEN – Archibald’s brother

MRS. MEDLOCK – Archibald’s housekeeper

MARTHA – an Irish housemaid

DICKON – Martha’s brother
