Preparation

Please prepare two 32-bar cuts in the style of SMOKEY JOE'S CAFÉ (R&B, classic Motown or R&B-flavored rock 'n' roll). Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. Bring headshot and resume.

Other Dates

Rehearsals begin May 13th. Preview is June 13th. Opening is June 14th. Closing is June 30th. Performances (12) are Thursdays-Saturdays at 7pm, Sundays at 2pm.

Callbacks are Sunday, March 10th from 7p-11p at the same location.

THE QUARTET (African-American male quartet based on The Drifters): KEN - the smoothie

ADRIAN - the "slow," soulful one FREDERICK - the bass, has seen it all VICTOR - the preening bad boy

BRENDA (African-American): a combination of savvy, wit, brains and beauty

B.J. (African-American): inspired by the Rhythm & Blues diva Big Mama Thornton Michael (White): genuinely suave and impressive, evokes the memory of Elvis Pattie (White): thethroaty voice of experience

DeLee (White): suggests the innocence of teenage girls with a wild streak
