Equity actor/singers for various roles and ensemble in the upcoming season.

Preparation
Prepare a brief song appropriate to a show in the season. Bring additional material in case requested.

Also bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Equity members without appointments will be seen throughout the audition days, as time permits.

2016 SEASON:

GYPSY
(Mainstage; $622/week)
First rehearsal 5/31, Opens 6/16, Closes 7/3
Seeking:

MAMA ROSE
Female, 30s-50s. The ultimate stage mother. Loud and brash, but can also be doting and charming. Lives her life vicariously through her two daughters. Comic timing is essential. Strong mezzo belter.

HERBIE
Male, 40s and up. Agent for Rose's children and Rose's boyfriend. He has a heart of gold, but also the power to defend the people he loves. Non-dancing role.

LOUISE
Female, early to late 20s. Grows from a shy girl to a confident classy stripper. Lots of charisma. Must be able to play awkward teen as well as a sophisticated woman. Strong movement skills needed. Light soprano and big belt voice required.

HUCK FINN
Male, Late teens to early 20s. All-American country boy with the spirit and wide-eyed wonder of a young teen. Also needs to possess wisdom beyond his years. He is searching for freedom from societal restrictions in the 1840's. Bari-tenor with strong acting and comedic skills.

JIM
Male, 30s to early 40s. African-American with strength and courage combined with simplicity and childlike qualities. Searching for freedom from slavery. Rich, soulful baritone with strong acting skills.

THE KING
Male, late 40s to 60. 1840's carpetbagger con artist passing himself off as aristocracy. Character actor who sings, with strong acting and comedic skills.

PAP FINN
Male, 40's-50s. Huck's convincing, sly father who is always looking for the easy way out and a strong bottle of whiskey. Character actor who sings, with strong acting and comedic skills.s

MARY JANE
Female, late teens to early 20s. Huck's love interest. Strong actress with a heart of gold and endless compassion. Folk/ country voice with an easy belt.

Female, 20s-30s. 2 Strong singers and actors to play multiple characters. Strong comic timing and the ability to sing close harmonies a must.

Female, 70s. Aging opera star. A large woman and diva.

REGINALD PAGET
Male, 70s. Aging opera star. A collar-and-tie kind of man, well put together and well spoken.

WILFRED BOND
Male, 70s. Aging opera star. Big in every sense of the word. Untidy - perhaps artisically, but equally as possible it is from neglect.

JEAN HORTON
Female 70s. Aging opera star. A slender, frail woman but has the manner of a grande dame and dresses accordingly.
