The show is a series of musical vignettes. It requires performers with exceptional range. All must dance. All must have excellent ability with harmony.

Man 1: Bing (Crosby), The manager and others; 30's, matinee idol charmer with velvety crooner voice (tenor), dances well.

Man 2: The sheik, Buzz Allbright and others; 30's, African-American, attractive and vibrant, skilled with tight harmony, partnering ability, dances extremely well. Bari-tenor.

Man 3: Bob (Hope), The Polish Gentleman, emcee and others; 30-45, comic character man who dances. Baritone.

Woman 1:Dorothy (Lamour), Mame and others; 25-35, leggy, sassy chanteuse with excellent comic timing, sings wide range, skilled with tight harmony, dances.

Woman 2: Vicky Voyay, the Housewife and others; 30-45, skilled with tight harmony, rich broadway belt, a true comedienne, dances.

Woman 3: Betty, The Coat Check Girl and others; 20's, youthful, wide-eyed innocence, belt/mix. Sings ''What's new?'', skilled with tight harmony, must have strong ballet training (partnering) and some tap ability.

Woman 4: Cleo (proprietress of a speakeasy, Lena George, and others; 30+, charming and sultry, warm alto with excellent ear for harmony, dances. Role is most often cast with African American, but other ethnicities will be considered.

Zach : 35-45 Ambitious and obsessed up and coming Broadway Director and Choreographer- auditioning his next big Broadway show. Looking for a commanding presence with a great speaking voice. Must sing and dance.

Larry : 20's- 30's Zach's assistant and right hand man. Looking for a strong dancer.

Maggie: 20's Gentle presence with strong mix and belt. Came to dance to escape unhappy childhood. Strong triple threat.

Mike: 20's Gentle presence with strong mix and belt. Came to dance to escape unhappy childhood. Strong triple threat.

Connie: late 20's -early 30s experienced dancer, short - spunky, Asian American

Greg: 30's Very Artsy,Grand - a King not a Queen. Has been asked to return to dancing by Zach.

Cassie: 30's was a star dancer on Broadway who did not make it in Hollywood.- coming back to get a second chance to do what she loves. Very strong Triple threat (Originated by Donna McKechnie)

Sheila: 30 Began as a showgirl, is moving up to featured roles. Fun, quick with a quip, and knows how the business works. Knows Zach well.

Bobby: 20's Talented, funny, is a bit of a ''twisted sister'' -Has GREAT childhood stories. Strong Triple threat.

Bebe: 20's from Boston, - New to the Broadway scene, practical - funny.

Judy: 20's Gawky, tall - Quirky and Fun.

Richie: 20's 30sAfrican American, strong dancer, very laid back and funny Strong Triple Threat.

Al: 20's-30's macho, from Bronx- married to Kristine

Don: 20's married, cool, self assured, All-American

Kristine: wide-eyed, naïve, nervous when not dancing, ''can't sing''- married to Al -Strong triple threat.

Val: Energetic, Saucy and fun. Has had some ''Body Enhancement'' surgery to help her get noticed in the biz. Strong triple Threat.

Mark: 20 Talented and warm innocent newcomer to show business.

Paul: mid 20's- early 30s NY- Puerto Rican. Strong Dancer much more reticent to speak than the rest. Began his adult life and career and acceptance as a gay man as a drag queen and is starting his life again as a Broadway dancer.

Diana: 20's Spunky, energetic, optimistic - Puerto Rican

IRENE MOLLOY: 30's, graceful, serious businesswoman with a romantic streak

MINNIE FAYE: 20's, airhead, chatty, a dancer and comedian

AMBROSE KEMPER: 20's, uptight, serious, charactery, some dance

ERMENGARDE: teens to early 20's, short, irritating wail of a cry, irritatingly piercing voice
