SPT Minimum - $245/wk
SEEKING
An ensemble of spirited actors to tell the story of 5 women in a tiny sewing factory in East LA, exploring family values, gender politics, and the Latina Immigrant experience. The action of the play occurs over the course of 5 hot summer days at the factory, as the women talk about their lives, fears and deepest desires while attempting to meet impossible production deadlines.
PREPARATION
Please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue or tell a story about your own family.

Actors of all backgrounds, ages, and physical abilities are encouraged to audition.
A variety of physical forms and fuller figures are required for this production, but body confidence is a must. The script calls for actors to dress down to undergarments, and the discovery of being comfortable in one's own body is a theme of the show.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BREAKDOWN
Ana- 18, plump and pretty, sister of Estela, daughter of Carmen. She is a recent high-school graduate and young feminist who wants to go to college but is stuck in the factory helping her sister.
Estela: 34, plump and plain. Owner of the Garcia Sewing Factory. A hopeless romatic at heart, but a hard worker.
Carmen: 50, mother of Ana and Estela. HAs a talent for Storytelling and Gossip
Pancha- 32 mellow, but quick with her tongue. Very Catholic, and traditional at times.
Rosali- 29, thin, sweet and easygoing, but has a secret and is insecure about her sexual appeal.
