Five-minute slots. No appointment necessary. The producer will run all aspects of this call. Equity audition procedures will NOT be in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided.

www.cityequitytheatre.com beginning the week of March 21. Please note that no character in this play speaks with a distinct Southern accent.

Henry “Hank” Brown:
AVAILABLE ROLE. African American, 50s. Attorney. Senior partner at Lawson and Brown. Acerbic, very witty. Highly suspicious of people’s motives.
Charles Strickland:
AVAILABLE ROLE. Caucasian, 40s. Very famous – if not notorious – due in part to his vast wealth. Comes from a strongly patrician line of the rich; his name is very well known. Fighting for his life because he has been accused of raping a black woman half his age. Has come to Lawson and Brown to seek representation. Oozes the unique reserve and superior aura of the rich.
Susan:
AVAILABLE ROLE. African American, 20s. Junior partner at the law firm; hired by the white partner, Jack Lawson. Hank considers her Lawson’s “science project”, i. e. not really suited for her job. Susan is very aware of the apprentice role in which Lawson has cast her. Harbors very deep suspicions as to Strickland’s innocence.
Jack Lawson:
CAST. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary. Caucasian, 50s. Senior partner at Lawson and Brown.
