SEEKING

Actors for our musical ONCE, the first production of our 17-18 season.

PREPARATION

Please prepare 16 bars of a song of your choice accompanied by yourself with your own instrument, which you must bring. We will have a piano/keyboard but there will not be an accompanist in attendance.

BREAKDOWN

Guy/Guitar - Baritone. 30's. A busker who, after suffering a painful breakup has decided to give up on his music and has resigned himself to living a life as a vacuum machine repairman, and living along above his dad's shop. Brooding and charismatic.

Girl/Piano - Mezzo Soprano. A Czech immigrant living with her extended family in Dublin and a single mom trying to raise her daughter. An optimist's spirit mixed with a realist's pragmatism.

Billy/Guitar/Ukelele/Cajon/snare drum - Baritone. Irish, 30's-40's. Owns music shop where Girl plays piano. A big man with a big personality and a big heart. Looks like a tough guy. Tries to be one, but can't quite pull it off.

Ex-Girlfriend/Violin - Mezzo Soprano. Irish, 20's Now lives in NYC. She's sensual, funny, and smart.

Svec/Banjo/guitar/mandolin/drum set - Baritone. Czech, 20's-30's. Quirky, odd, and joyful. Svec loves TV and coffee.

Andrej/Electric bass/ukelele/tambourine/cajon/guitar - Baritone. Czech 20's. An employee at a fast food chain. Eager to please. And eager for any opportunity for advancement. A schemer.

Reza/violin - Soprano. Late 20's - early 30's. Czech. She's smart. And on the make for a good looking succesful Irish man.

Baruska/Piano/Accordian/Tambourine/Melodica - Alto. Czech, 50's+ Girls Mother. She believes a full stomach and a full heart will cure anything. Wants the best for her daughter.

Emcee/Guitar - Baritone. Irish 20's-30's. Genial, Bold, and quick witted. One of the boys. Plays guitar really well.

Eamon/Guitar/Piano/Melodica/Harmonica - Baritone. Irish, 30's-40's. The studio manager where they record their music. Guarded and not very forthcoming.
