Breakdown
Preparation Instructions: Please prepare ONE brief vocal selection that is appropriate for the role(s) to which you feel you are most suited. An accompanist will be provided, bring sheet music in your key and you MUST bring 5 (FIVE) pictures and resumes stapled together. Representatives with casting authority from each show will be present, you are free to bring in something specifically appropriate for any of the shows, or perform ONE general selection that shows you off best - but, as in years past, we are NOT permitting more than one vocal selection. = SYNOPSIS: In a time before time was important, there was an island full of music and magic, where pirates, natives, fairies and other mysterious folk lived, loved and fought together - until one young fairy and one young pirate crossed paths. When first mate James of the Jolly Roger meets the yearning, idealistic young fairy Tinkerbell, their star-crossed romance brings together the entire population of Neverland, from the mischievous Dreamweaver fairies to the mighty Natives, and even a colony of scavenging boys whose leader fell from the sky. SEEKING: [TINK] female, 18-25, any ethnicity. An enthusiastic, headstrong young fairy who wants to grow up and lead a life of adventure. She falls in love with the pirate James when he offers her the chance to live her dreams as an explorer. Must be a strong belter. Mezzo Soprano. [PETER PAN] male, 14-18, any ethnicity. Peter falls from the sky and immediately becomes a part of Tink’s journey. Clever, charismatic leader of the Lost Boys. Unchanged voice. [JAMES/HOOK] Male, late 20s, any ethnicity. Strong actor capable of playing the old Pirate and transforming into James on stage as well as becoming ‘Hook’. Baritone. [BART] male, 40s, any ethnicity. Captain of the Jolly Roger and the main villain of the the story. Ruthless, mean, dying of consumption. This character doubles as Tink’s Father. Baritone. [OONA] female, 30s-40s, any ethnicity. Tink’s Mother - Some dancing required. Alto. [TIGER LILLY] female, 20s, any ethnicity. Tink’s best friend. Fierce warrior princess, dancing required. Will double as FAIRY QUEEN - female, 40s - Somewhat oblivious and condescending. Soprano/Belt. [JACK OF THE GREEN] male, 20s, any ethnicity. Leader of the Dreamweavers, who sell dreams and magic on the black market of Neverland. Comedic, dance required. Tenor. [SMEE] male, 30s, any ethnicity. Bart’s assistant and James’s best friend. He is not exactly the Smee we’ll meet in Peter Pan. Sweet, well-meaning, loyal and just a little bit brave. Doubles as FAIRY KING. Baritone. [THE PIRATES/DREAMWEAVERS/FAIRIES/LOST BOYS] 20s - 40s - male and female, all ethnicities. Comedic.
