Breakdown

NOTE: “MOTOWN” is based on the life of Berry Gordy.

Because most of these characters are real people, although we are not seeking impersonators, we do want actors that evoke the look and sound of these music icons. Please research photos of those you don’t know and submit only talent you believe could play these characters. Skin tone and body type should be similar.

SEEKING the following role only:

LITTLE MICHAEL JACKSON
Male, African American, age 8 to 14, to play 10. Doubles as young Berry Gordy, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Must sing like Michael Jackson a la “I WANT YOU BACK”. MUST HAVE A HIGH VOICE THAT HAS NOT CHANGED. This person will be expected to audition singing these songs in their original keys. Must dance and act very well. PRINCIPAL


WHAT TO PREPARE/BRING:
Please prepare ONE of the following songs to audition with:

“I WANT YOU BACK” by Michael Jackson (Jackson 5)
“I’LL BE THERE” by Michael Jackson (Jackson 5)
“WHO’S LOVING YOU” by Michael Jackson (Jackson 5)

A Piano accompanist will be provided for your audition. PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR PICTURE/RESUME WITH FULL CONTACT INFORMATION TO THE AUDITIONS!
