NELLIE FORBUSH - Age Range: 25 - 30. Vocal Range: Mezzo (A below middle C - C mid-stave) A feisty but somewhat naïve young nurse from Arkansas. Something of a tomboy with an optimistic outlook. Competent dance required. EMILE de BECQUE - Age Range: 35 - 45. Vocal Range: Bass/Baritone - operatic. A mature, sophisticated, wealthy French planter. Good French accent required. LT. JOSEPH CABLE - Age Range: 25-30. Vocal Range: Tenor (E - High G) A handsome and intelligent Lieutenant with a bright future in the US Navy. LUTHER BILLIS - Age Range: 25 - 45. Vocal Range: Baritone. A loveable character who provides his fellow marines with much needed comic relief. Does not respect authority. Stubborn character. Adores Nellie. BLOODY MARY - Age Range: 30-40. Vocal Range: Mezzo (G below middle C - F top of stave) A shrewd merchant native to the island, who makes a fortune from the sailors. Full of local character. Mother of Liat. To play a Pacific Islander. NGANA and JEROME - Age Range: 6-12. Vocal Range: Child. Emile's children. To play a pacific Islander. HENRY - Age Range: 20-30. Emile's native servant. GEORGE BRACKETT - Age Range: 40+. Commanding officer on the island. Slightly pompous but not without a soft side. LIAT - Age Range: 16-20. Non Singing. A beautiful Polynesian girl who steals the heart of Joe Cable. Bloody Mary's daughter. To play Pacific Islander. WILLIAM HARBISON - Age Range: 25-40. Bracket's right hand man. Can be hot-headed, especially where Billis is concerned. 'STEWPOT' GEORGE WATTS - Age Range: 25-40. Carpenter's Mate Second Class. PROFESSOR - Age Range:40 - 50+. ENSEMBLE A strong and vibrant ensemble of singers and dancers of all ages will be needed for this production. There is also a large selection of other supporting roles within the show. SCARECROW/ HUNK: Male, late 20’s to mid 40’s with limber, playful physical agility. High baritone. Excellent actor/singer/dancer. TINMAN/ HICKORY: Male, late 20’s to mid 40’s with excellent tapping skills. Baritone. Excellent actor/singer/dancer. COWARDLY LION/ ZEKE: Male, early 30’s to mid 40’s with excellent vaudeville comic timing. Baritone. Excellent actor/singer/dancer. WICKED WITCH/ MISS GULCH (Non Singing Version): Female, mid 30’s to 50’s with strong acting skills to play both spine chilling wickedness and acerbic humor. Physical role involving harnessed aerial/flying, pyro effects, and melting into stage of smoke. Excellent actor. Non-singing/dancing role. PROFESSOR MARVEL/ GATEKEEPER/ WIZARD OF OZ: Male, plays 50’s to late 60’s with great comic timing and warmth. Baritone. Excellent actor/singer. GLINDA/ AUNT EM: Female, late 30’s to 50’s with airy beauty as well as Midwestern farming strength. Soprano/Mezzo. Excellent actor/singer. Note: this character does aerial/flying. UNCLE HENRY/ WINKIE GENERAL: Male, mid 40’s + character actor with comic timing and coordination. Low baritone/bass. Excellent actor/singer. MALE AND FEMALE SINGER/DANCERS: Strong jazz/ballet dancers with strong singing voices with the ability to hold tight harmonies. Acrobatics and tricks a plus. DR. FREDERICK FRANKENSTEIN: The eccentric grandson of an infamous mad scientist. He is the Dean of Anatomy at New York's best university. Male, 30-45 yrs old. Range: Bb2 - G4. Moves well with some tap. IGOR: Frederick's faithful, bright-eyed, eager servant. Male, 30-45 yrs old. Range: C3 - G4. Strong dancer with good improvisation. INGA: The not-so-bright assistant to Frederick. Young and sexy. Female, 20-30 yrs old. Range: G#3 - A5. Strong dancer. ELIZABETH BENNING: Self-loving, naive, boisterous fiancee of Frederick. Female, 30-40 yrs old. Range: F#3 - F5 FRAU BLEUCHER: The proud housekeeper of the Frankenstein estate. Intense and stern. Female, 50-65 yrs old. Range: E3 - B4. Strong Improvisational skills. Some dance/movement. DR. He becomes head of Tommy's security force after he's cured. (Baritone) • Uncle Ernie (40-55) - Tommy's drunk, perverted uncle. He runs Tommy's Holiday Camp. (Tenor) • The Lover (20-30) - Mrs. Walker's boyfriend, killed by Captain Walker when he returns home from the war. Handsome, muscular and proficient in stage combat. • The Hawker (20-50) - Leader of a New Age Cult. An unsavory street man. • The Gypsy (25-35) - the “Acid Queen”, a drug dealer and prostitute. (Alto) • The Specialist (30-50) - A doctor who has new theories on how to cure Tommy. • The Specialist’s Assistant (20-30) - an assistant to the specialist. • Sally Simpson (16-20) - A typical teenage girl obsessed with Tommy.
