Breakdown

Seeking:

THE WRITER
Jewish Caucasian, late 20s. Neurotic, funny, charming & gay. He’s a struggling writer who has had some success with his short stories but it still waiting for his big break. Sexually more adventurous and free-spirited than the Academic. Prone to passionate tirades.

THE ACADEMIC
Non-Caucasian, late 20s. Smart, charming, patient & gay. He’s in grad school for media studies. A bit of a traditionalist, he’s looking to find his one true love and settle down. Doesn’t like conflict but holds his own in an argument.

LAILA
Non-Caucasian, late 20s/early 30s. Retail salesperson at a trendy bath & body shop. She is fairly good at her day job but also totally over it. Ultimately revealed to be a good listener, with a playful sense of humor and a deep empathy for others.

The following role has been CAST. Actors may be considered for possible replacements if needed:

DAN
ROLE CAST. Racially ambiguous, late 20s. A charismatic young writer. Single, gay and looking for love, he’s the kind of guy who walks into a room and everyone notices. He’s adopted and never knew his father.
