SEEKING THE FOLLOWING ROLE:

MR. STEVENS
Male, 40s-50s. The Leader of the Opposition and the head of the Conservative Party. Eloquent, logical, introspective. Dedicated to serving the people. Though they initially clash, he has a deep admiration and respect for Charles and his late mother.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING OFFSTAGE UNDERSTUDIES:

MAN #1
One man to play in his late 40s to mid-60s to understudy the following roles:

MR. EVANS
The Prime Minister and a member of the Labour Party. Logical, rule-abiding, and often inflexible, he struggles to adjust to Charles’s reign as King. His loyalty is to Great Britain, not the monarchy.

JAMES REISS
Charles’s pragmatic press secretary and longtime friend. Though intensely protective of the entire royal family, he ultimately turns on Charles in favor of William.

MR. STEVENS
The Leader of the Opposition and the head of the Conservative Party. Eloquent, logical, introspective. Dedicated to serving the people. Though they initially clash, he has a deep admiration and respect for Charles and his late mother.


MAN #2
One man to play in his late 20s to early 30s to understudy the following roles:

HARRY:
Younger son of Charles, in line for the throne after his brother William. Lonely and surprisingly shy, he dislikes the royal lifestyle and craves normality. Genuinely loves Jess and wants to shield her from public scrutiny.

COUTTSEY/CLIVE/SIR MICHAEL:
COUTTSEY - A friend of Harry’s. Comes from a wealthy family, though he is less concerned with his social standing than with his social life.
CLIVE - The royal family’s dutiful under-butler.
SIR MICHAEL - The sharp-eyed chief of police.


MAN #3
One man to play in his early 30s (MUST BE SIX FOOT PLUS) to understudy the following roles:

WILLIAM:
The Duke of Cambridge. A deep rooted sense of duty been engrained in him since birth. He is charismatic, shrewdly observant, and extremely protective of his family and their legacy. His natural ambition is bolstered by his wife, Kate.

SPENCER/NICK/SIR GORDON:
SPENCER - privileged friend of Harry’s. Materialistic, judgmental, obsessed with his social standing.
NICK - The Prime Minister’s eager assistant.
SIR GORDON - The Chief of Defense Staff. Business-like and brusque, but loyal to Charles.


WOMAN #1
One woman to play in her mid-20s to mid-30s to understudy the following roles:

KATE:
The Duchess of Cambridge, William’s wife. Her ruthless ambition is masked by impeccable poise and charm. Calculating, forceful, and often manipulative, she was born a commoner and is willing to do anything to protect her royal status.

JESS:
A down-to-earth Republican art student, whose sudden fame makes her uneasy. Harry falls in love with her sardonic sense of humor and straightforwardness.

SARAH/GHOST:
SARAH - A member of the Prime Minister’s cabinet, she is blunt, dismissive of the royal family, and eager to move the nation forward.
GHOST - In life, she was the Princess of Wales, wife of Charles and mother to William and Harry. Her death haunts all three of them.


WOMAN #2
One woman to play in her mid-60s to understudy the following roles:

CAMILLA:
Princess Consort. Charles’s loving wife. Devoted to her husband, her family, and the traditions of the monarchy.
