SEEKING

Dancers for the upcoming production of EVER AFTER. See breakdown for details. Local hires preferred.

PREPARATION

Dance Call: Females: flat shoes, Males: knee pads, if possible.
You may be asked to sing, please prepare 32 bars of a vocal selection that displays range from the musical theatre canon. Females should bring a quirky comedic selection. (Please avoid Heisler & Goldrich pieces.)

As this dance call is categorized by male and female only, we ask that you attend the session of the gender you most identify and feel comfortable with.

ECC Procedures are in effect for audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

BREAKDOWN

Danielle (Female, 20s) Spirited, independent, athletic problem solver – Strong Broadway/legit mix to high F with the ability to belt.

Rodmilla (Female 40s- 50s) Cold stepmother to Danielle – Belter with alto/mezzo range (Must belt a C).

Henry (Male, mid 20s- mid 30s) Headstrong, funny, stubborn prince. Legit tenor to high Ab, light pop sensibility.

Leonardo (Male 40s- 50s) Wise, genius, artist; confidante and advisor to Henry and Danielle. Can be baritone or tenor but must have high F.

Marguerite (Female 20s- mid 30s) Entitled, cruel; favored daughter of Rodmilla. Belter and ability to vocally turn on a dime with an excellent legit mezzo soprano.

Gustave (Male, 20s) Danielle’s loyal best friend from childhood – artist in training, Tenor.

Pierre Mallette (Male, 50s- 60s) Wealthy landowner, has sights on Danielle. Baritenor – needs a high F.

King Francis (Male, 40s- 60s) Monarch who asserts his authority over his own family. Competitive and stubborn. Baritone, must have a high F.

Queen Marie (Female, late 40s- 60s) Tolerant, kind, compassionate. Alto/Mezzo.

Jacqueline (Female, 20s- early 30s) Awkward, open-faced daughter of Rodmilla. Warm, smooth mix.

Laurent (Male, 30s) Captain to Francis, sidekick to Henry. Long suffering caretaker, loyal. Tenor, High G.

Young Danielle (Female Child, 8-12 yrs) Male/Female

Ensemble: (20s – 40s) Versatile singers and strong dancers to play various ensemble members: Courtiers, Servants, Cargo Master, Boemian Wanderers, Maurice, Louise, Auguste, etc.
