Breakdown

KARL/STEVE
Male 30s Caucasian. Karl is a member of the community whose self righteous behavior finds himself in other people’s business. He wants to preserve his neighborhood by stopping the sale of his home to a family of color. Steve is friendly and politically correct. He wants to renovate his single-family home to a larger scale.

FRANCINE/LENA
Female, 30s African American. Francine is a maid in Bev’s household sick of working for “idiots.” Lena is a member of the Homeowners Association with strong ties to Clybourne Park and a vision for its preservation. She very much wants to preserve the historical legacy of the homes in the neighborhood.
