BREAKDOWN

White Female (mid 20’s-early 30’s) to play CAROLINE BRYANT, age 21 and age 71. Caroline Bryant is the accuser of Emmett Till, a 14 year-old Black boy who was murdered for apparently “whistling” at her.

White Male (mid 20’s-early 30’s) to play ROY and RAY BRYANT, age 25 (and other characters including JJ Breland, defense lawyer, and David Killingworth, FBI agent). Roy and Ray Bryant are twin brothers. Roy Bryant, (along with his cousin, JW Milam), is the notorious murderer of Emmett Till.

Black Male (late 20's-early 30’s) to play CLINTON MELTON, age 29 (and other characters including NAACP Field Agent, Medgar Evers, age 30). Clinton Melton was killed by an enraged white man in the aftermath of the Emmett Till murder.

Black Female (mid 20’s-early 30’s) to play BEULAH MELTON, age 25 (and other characters including Mary Johnson, age 9 and Delores Grisham, age 65). Beulah Melton is the wife of Clinton Melton and dies in a suspicious car accident after the murder of her husband.
