ANCESTRAL VOICES is an ensemble piece designed to be read in the style of Gurney's LOVE LETTERS. The play take place in Buffalo in the late 1930's - early 1940's, and celebrates the warmth and pull of an extended family and a self-regarding, cohesive community, even as it shows how that community can turn on itself and ostracize its rebels.
