Rover Dramawerks will begin their 15th Anniversary Season with the regional premiere of A. R. Gurney's comedy The Fourth Wall. Performances will be at Rover's new theatre venue in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances are October 23 - November 15, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., plus an additional matinee performance on Saturday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m.

Peggy, a simple upper-class housewife (played by Sue Goodner), has a strange obsession with a blank wall in her house, as she has redecorated the living room to resemble a stage set with everything facing this blank "fourth wall." Her husband (Stan Kelly) is not amused and brings in an old friend from New York (Janis Roscoe) and the local community college theatre professor (Will Acker) to try to help. As each character enters the room, they, too, begin to behave as if they are acting in a play, or even a musical, when they occasionally burst into song. This clever comedy tackles contemporary topics while illuminating the nature of theater and its current state in America. It's American drawing room comedy with the wit of Noel Coward and the songs of Cole Porter.
Andi Allen serves as director/sound designer, with Darcy Koss as Stage Manager. Set design is by Jack Piland with lighting design by Dave Tenney. Costumes are by Cynthia Beene, and props are by Danielle Vance.

Tickets for The Fourth Wall are $16.00 on Thursdays and the one matinee and $22.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday, October 23 is Preview Night, and all seats are $10.00 in advance online or "pay-what-you-can" at the door. After the show on Friday, October 24, patrons can join the cast, director, and designers at Rover's inaugural First Friday Insiders party.

Tickets for The Fourth Wall may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com and season subscription packages are also available. For more information about Rover Dramawerks, please visit them online or call 972-849-0358.
