Bringing in a new and surprising take on the legend of Robin Hood, Visible Fictions makes a stop at Segerstrom Center for the Arts with a production The Scotsman newspaper calls, "A timely contemporary twist on the story." Created by the company that brought the hit show Jason and the Argonauts to stages all over the world, The Adventures of Robin Hood breathes life into the outlaw we all know so well. Co-Commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., Robin Hood comes to Samueli Theater on November 8 & 9 for three performances only.

There will be free pre-show creative play activities beginning one hour before each performance. The Center's Education and Community Programs Department offers these activities to provide young people and their families more opportunities to play creatively together. Studies show creative play is critical in helping children develop their ability to think and problem solve.

The Adventures of Robin Hood is recommended for families and children ages 7 and up. Single tickets are $20 and are now available online at SCFTA.org, at the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. For inquiries about group ticket savings for 10 or more, call the Group Services office at (714) 755-0236. The TTY number is (714) 556-2746. The performance on Sunday, November 9 at 1 p.m. will be sign-language interpreted.

Played by two actors, Simon Donaldson and Darran Lightbody, the setting is less of a Sherwood Forest, and more of an everyday place where a tale can be told and objects can be reinvented. Playful, imaginative and fast paced, all the characters are there, in one way or another, along with a host of cardboard boxes, shopping trolleys and food.

Visible Fictions creates vibrant, high quality and accessible theater for young people and adults alike. Over the years, its work has inspired and entertained audiences across the world - from Broadway to schools in the Scottish Highlands -- always aiming to challenge, excite and thrill. No two Visible Fictions performances are alike, but audiences agree on an equally memorable and powerful experience.

Visible Fictions is regularly invited to perform at the Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival and other festivals across the world. The company has collaborated with BBC Panorama and co-produced with BBC Scotland for BBC Radio 4 and Scottish Opera.

Abroad, Visible Fictions has co-produced with the Danish organization ASSITEJ and was the first Scottish theater company to be invited to perform on Broadway with its production of Red Balloon. The organization has collaborated with the Seattle Children's Theatre, Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. for The Adventures of Robin Hood. For more information about Visible Fictions, visit www.visiblefictions.co.uk.
