Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings Begins New Season Joined by Prelude Chamber Strings

Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings (PSSS), with instrumentalists in grades 6-9, led by Music Director Irene Kroesen (under the artistic advisement of Music Director Carl St.Clair). The concert features the Prelude Chamber Strings (PCS), grades 2-8, conducted by Helen Weed.

PSSS, along with guest artists, PCS, rings in its 26th season with works celebrating the artistic achievement and virtuosic energy of youth! The musicians perform prolific works by talented young composers who changed the world of music in their short lives. Enjoy an afternoon of youthful music masterfully performed by PSSS, including music from Henry Purcell's "Abdelazer"; Mozart's Allegro Moderato from Symphony No. 29; Schubert's "Four Songs for Strings"; Mendelssohn's Sinfonia No. 2; Chopin's Polonaise Militaire; and Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain." The concert opens with PCS performing Mozart's Symphony No. 25 from the film "Amadeus"; Mendelssohn's Andante from Symphony No. 4; Schubert's March No. 1 from Marche Militaire; and Balmages' "Forever Joyful!"
