Cal State Fullerton's production of Shakespeare's comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor, runs March 11-March 26, 2016 in the Young Theatre on campus. Helmed by director Sarah Ripper, The Merry Wives of Windsor was first published in 1602 and follows the character Falstaff who courts two wealthy married women, sending them identical love letters. When the two women find out about each other's letters, they pretend to respond to Falstaff's advances for their own amusement and to gain revenge.

Director Sarah Ripper earned her MA in Educational Theatre from NYU and received her
BFA in Musical Theatre from Sam Houston State University. From 2008-2009 she toured Asia in Cinderella (Ensemble), starring Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga. Sarah Ripper recently directed CSUF's acclaimed production of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa.

The cast of The Merry Wives of Windsor includes Wyn Moreno as Falstaff, Tina A. Burkhalter as Mistress Page, Jake LaRosa as Mr. Page, Tamara Veres-Vailant as Mistress Ford, Christopher Yu as Mr.Ford, Miguel Marianna as Mistress Quickly, Kelvin M. Rhodes II as Sir Hugh Evans, Isaac Ibarra as Fenton, Madeline Ellingson as Anne Page, Ricky Abilez as Slender, Quentin Carbajal as Shallow,

Cody Bianchi as Host, Chayan Tavakoly as Dr. Cauis, Jeremy Leochner as Pistol, Rosie Rodriguez as Simple, Paige Sherman as Nym, Ryan McLean as Bardolph, Megan Hill as Robin, Olivia Pence as Rugby, Darby Sorich as John/Servant One and Edward Salas as Robert/ Servant Two. The ensemble and dancers include Ryan McLean, Edward Salas, Anthony Vacio, Jeff Garrido, Megan Hill, Darby Sorich, Isobel Beaman, Beth Roy, Olivia Pence and Ivy Creel.

Scenic Design is by Ann Sheffield, Lighting Design is by Joanne Edelstein and Debra Garcia Lockwood, Costume Design is by Kaylynn Sutton, Sound Design is by Benjamin Hawkins and Hair/Makeup Design is by Kaylee Truenow.

The Merry Wives of Windsor plays at 8pm on March 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 and at 2pm on March 13, 19, 20, 26. General admission tickets are $14 ($12 with advance Titan Discount purchase for students, seniors or with a CSUF ID). All tickets are $14 at the door. Soon to follow in the CSUF season is the Broadway hit and recent film musical, Into the Woods, including music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim with book by James Lapine. CSUF's production of Into the Woods is directed by Professor Eve Himmelheber, with musical direction by Mitchell Hanlon, and runs April 8-April 24, 2016 in the Little Theatre on campus.
