The Downtown Cabaret in partnership with Family Entertainment Live presents the second installment of their original Decades in Concert series, Spirit of the Sixties! Following the huge success of Sounds of the Seventies, this production transports audiences back to the 1960s to revisit the sights and sounds of the era that changed EVERYTHING. Using music from some of the most prominent and influential artists of the 60s such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, Crosby Stills & Nash, Aretha Franklin and The Beatles plus many many more, Decades in Concert: Spirit of the Sixties tells the story of the history and culture of America from JFK to the Apollo Moon Landing and everything in between. This amazing performance with a talented cast and pre-recorded music will immerse you in nostalgic multimedia and transport you back to the decade that changed America and defined a generation!Starring Saige Bryan, Robert Peterpaul, Mikayla Petrilla, and Everton Ricketts.Conceived by Hugh Hallinan, Written by Phill Hill. April 23, 2022On Friday, April 22, 2022, I had the pleasure of seeing another phenomenal production at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. I have been looking forward to SPIRIT OF THE SIXTIES since I first heard of it, and even more when I found out that it has the same stellar cast as their previous Decades in Concert production, The Sounds of the Seventies. Robert Peterpaul, Mikayla Petrilla, Everton Ricketts, and Saige Bryan yet again showcase their collective first-rate talents as individuals and as a cohesive group, singing and dancing under the excellent direction and choreography of Jennifer Kaye, and accompanied by pre-recorded instrumentation. Phill Hill’s clever writing shines through on this amazing selection of about fifty songs from a decade that many would regard as the greatest decade of music in music history! It is clear that the cast is having as wonderful a time performing on stage as the audience is watching them perform!

BWW Review: THE SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES at Downtown Cabaret Theatre
September 11, 2021On Friday, September 10, I had the pleasure of seeing THE SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES, reprised at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre. This approximate two hour performance includes nearly fifty different songs, performed by the extremely talented four original cast members. Mikayla Petrilla, Saige Bryan, Robert Peterpaul, and Everton Ricketts all have incredible voices, strong stage presences, tremendous acting skills, tight stage chemistry with each other, and a positive attitude of genuinely enjoying their performance, radiating positive energy all throughout the audience!
