Next Friday, September 27th, Stamford's Palace Theatre will kick off its new Showcase 61 series in the Upper Lobby with Norwalk singer/songwriter Karen Zimmer. The series, which will feature performances by up and coming artists, food from downtown restaurants, and beer and wine, will continue with violinist and singer/songwriter Ada Pasternak on Friday, October 4th, Canyon on Thursday, October 17th, and guitar virtuoso and songwriter Joe Robinson on Friday, October 25th. All performances begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at www.SCAlive.org.

Singer/Songwriter/Violinist Ada Pasternak was born in Moscow and immigrated to the United States at the age of six. Ada was classically trained on the violin, winning numerous competitions and awards. In 2007 Ada was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to Berklee College of Music (a full ride). It was there, after experiencing her first love and heartbreak, that Ada discovered her ability and passion for singing and writing songs.

Currently hailing from Connecticut, Canyon is a 28 year old vocal powerhouse. She is known by those that have seen her perform to be a captivating singer/songwriter with haunting and heart-wrenchingly honest songs. Performing with just an acoustic guitar, her catchy vocal melodies will immediately grab your attention while the intimate lyrics and stories she tells will keep your ears guessing. Known for performing with an intensely raw passion and conviction, her sound will cut you deep and hit a nerve.

Joe Robinson plays guitar like Ali boxed, like Einstein knew theoretical physics and like Hitchcock made movies. The gifted young virtuoso and 2008 winner of Australia's Got Talent has defined himself as a budding pop-world visionary, deftly walking a tightrope between the instrumental music that put him in the spotlight and a unique fusion of vocally based rock, blues, jazz, country and R&B that's entirely his own.
