The Surprising Way Chef Carla Hall Found Her Passion

In 1996, author Jacquelyn Mitchard's novel The Deep End of the Ocean was the first-ever selection of Oprah's Book Club, became an overnight bestseller and launched Mitchard's prolific literary career. Despite making millions as an author, Mitchard lost everything and eventually ended up in line to receive Food Stamps. Oprah sits down with the author to find out what went wrong, how shame kept her from writing for a long time, and what to expect from her new book. 25 years after first appearing on the "Oprah" Show, Naomi Judd, at her Tennessee home, reflects on her relationships with daughters Wynonna and Naomi, what drew her to study Physics at Princeton, and her 36-year marriage to Larry Strickland. Next, "The Chew's" Carla Hall shows what's in the fridge of her NY apartment home and tells how she went from CPA to celebrity chef and talk show host, plus a peek at her NY restaurant, Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen. In 1991, pop sensation Gerardo topped the charts with his hit "Rico Suave." Today, Gerardo talks about his days as a big-time "player," how he and a buddy came up with the Rico Suave character, and what he did to reinvent himself - transitioning from one-hit wonder to ordained minister and mega-successful record executive.
