Singer Songwriter Billy Lewis Jr. to Join Cast of GLEE Season 6

Singer/songwriter/actor Billy Lewis Jr. confirmed via his website that he has joined the cast of "Glee" for its sixth and final season.

"Set your DVRs!!! SO STOKED to finally announce, I've been lucky enough to join the cast of 'Glee' for their 6th and Final Season!!" Lewis wrote on his website Monday, Nov. 24. "It's been quite the whirl-wind over the past couple months and I'm excited to keep sharing this crazy experience with everyone!"

Lewis did not reveal which character he is playing, however he has confirmed that he will play one of the five additional characters that will be introduced to the FOX musical dramedy as new members of New Directions.

While this is Billy's first television role, he has spent the last several years writing music, and working steadily in professional regional theatre (The Who's Tommy, Spring Awakening, Hedwig & the Angry Inch) as well as being featured in the national touring companies of Hair, Spring Awakening and Queens' We Will Rock You. He has also performed in several national theatrical concerts & benefit performances.

?In July of 2014 Billy released his debut EP of original music, produced by Jack Daley, as well as two music videos and a live release performance at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater in NYC.

"Glee" returns Friday, Jan. 9 with a two-hour premiere starting at 8:00 p.m. on Fox.
