Love Never Dies- both on Broadway (hello Andrew Lloyd Weber), and in NASHVILLE (where- let's face it- half the cast is from the Great White Way anyway). Previously, The Triple Exes (as they're now known) booked more dates with Rascal Flatts, Gunnar is clearly jealous of Scarlett's new doctor fling... until Sadie Stone finally stood up for herself- and on Good Morning America, no less. She told Robin Roberts that she was a victim of domestic violence, and that her ex didn't deserve any of the money he was awarded in court. Which was freaking incredible. Deacon- to match that drama- confronted Rayna about his liver cancer. And it's that depressing, heartbreaking note that we're left with.

With the true irony of the world (and of primetime dramas), it only makes sense that the moment Rayna and Deacon reconcile, the truth emerges of his potentially life-threatening cancer. Following suit, the first arena the Triple Exes play (opening for Rascal Flatts- no small gig), is the same one Scarlett had her meltdown (cowering underneath the piano) in.

Gunnar, however, utters one of the funniest lines he's ever said to either break the tension or give the audience an easy laugh. "When you first sign up you're just an egg. And nobody takes you seriously when you're just an egg." Both reasons I'm fine with- I laughed. Harder than I should have, probably.

I've often said that Gunnar and Scarlett's (not necessarily together) scenes have been the slowest of the show. Even Gunnar's storlyine with his son was far from engaging (especially compared to the other storylines on the show). However, when those three (I'm including Avery) are together, I absolutely love it. Their songs are fantastic, the chemistry is great, and they have an incredibly dynamic (hence why their band is so successful). If the writers know what work they'll keep these three together as much as possible. Seperately (minus Avery and Juliette), I'm not crazy about any of them- but together it's gold. They've been knocked up a peg and knocked Layla and Jeff down to least interesting characters.

Deacon's cancer- or rather, his attitude about it, has driven Rayna off the deep end a bit. She is now the one fighting so hard for a relationship she's spent the majority of three seasons either rejecting or denying. Deacon, meanwhile, is convinced he is going to die- which is not helping anyone or anything. It's always 0 to 60 with these too- between marriages, illegitimate children, rising and falling careers, and now- cancer- there's not much else the NASHVILLE writers can throw at them. After the constant on again off again, however, here's hoping whatever is in the works will stick, cancer be damned.

Call me absolutely crazy (please), but I may or may not sense something happening between Luke and Sadie and if that happens it may be one of the dumbest mistakes of the show. This isn't 90210 where every character dates every other- don't stoop to that level, NASHVILLE! Don't do it!

Do however, force Scarlett and Gunnar together. Caleb is great, but we all know who Scarlett really needs to be with. You did it with Juliette and Avery, and Deacon and Rayna... so it's only a matter of time, right? If you want to break up Jeff and Rayna, that's perfectly okay with me too.

Teddy really doesn't know what's good for him- or how to do his job, for that matter. Not only is he under investigation for being involved (give or take) with a prostitute, but he's willing to go under the table and illegally obtain government money to help said prostitute escape and, in turn, save himself. This poor boy doesn't know which way is up.

Rayna and Deacon however, at least for the time being, certainly do. And their happy-family moment with the girls could not have been more adorable or potentially tear-jerking, especially with Deacon's confession of his cancer to Maddie immediately following (no comment...may or may not need to have a moment...).

And just when I think I have everything figured out, NASHVILLE's writers pull a fast one on me. Sadie, confronted by her abusive ex, accidentally pulls the trigger on her gun and kills him, just as Luke pulls up.

What do you think will happen next week after tonight's cliffhanger? Sadie being prosecuted? Celebratory relief? Let me know @WendiReichstein or in the comments below what you think is in store for Ms. Sadie Stone.
