TVGuide.com reports that Marc Anthony is heading for the new season of FOX's THE X FACTOR in the role of a mentor. The singer will join judge Simon Cowell's team when the competition returns for its second season.

Anthony and ex-wife Jennifer Lopez recently took on judging duties in their reality series  Q'Viva!: The Chosen. On the show, the duo traveled througout Latin America in search of talent to perform in an all-Latin Las Vegas act.

It was recently announced that teen heartthrob Justin Bieber will mentor L.A. Reid's team on X Factor, while Nick Jonas has signed on for Demi Lovato's crew. No word yet on who will take on mentoring duties for new judge Britney Spears

Marc Anthony has sold over 11 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most influential artists of his time and a true ambassador of Latin music and culture. He has been awarded countless Standard gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The list of Grammy accolades began with a 1998 Grammy for Best Latin/Tropical Performance for “Contra La Corriente,” followed with a 1999 Grammy for Song of the Year for “Dimelo.”

The X Factor returns Wednesday, September 12 at 8/7c on Fox.
