Local Resident Charged with Stealing 'Aaron Tveit Way' Tribute Street Sign

According to Recordonline.com, police arrested Warwick resident James Harris, 22 for stealing a sign outside of the town's Paramount Theatre on South Street, which read "Aaron Tveit Way," in honor of the Middletown High School graduate who went on to become a star of stage and screen.

According to the report, Harris was charged with fourth- degree criminal mischief and petty larceny, both misdemeanors, for tearing down the sign and removing it. Police did not reveal the man's motive for the crime.

The street was officially named for Tveit at an Aug. 31, 2014, ceremony. The CATCH ME IF YOU CAN star, who graduated from Middletown High School in 2001, was present at the event and even signed autographs for his fans in attendance.

Tveit stars in the usa network series "Graceland." He portrayed the character "Enjolras" in the 2012 film adaption of "Les Miserables" and will soon take on the role of 'Danny Zuko' in Fox's upcoming "Grease Live!"

On Broadway, he starred in "Catch Me If You Can," and also created the role of "Gabe" in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical, "Next To Normal," which he developed off-Broadway at the Second Stage Theatre and won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance.

Television audiences know him from his recurring role of "Trip Van der Bilt" on "Gossip Girl," as well as numerous guest-starring roles on "The Good Wife," "Ugly Betty" and "Law And Order: Special Victims Unit."
