The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +4% in viewers (6.54m from 6.29m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.2/06) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - compared to the same week last year, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 8.

The CBS broadcast added +250,000 viewers, closing the viewership gap with NBC by 960,000 viewers, compared to the same week last year.

Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +2% in viewers (7.26m from 7.14m) compared to last season.

On last week's broadcasts, Jim Axelrod investigated questionable medications sold to military personnel and veterans at the expense of taxpayers; Anna Werner investigated sexual misconduct by U.S. Customs & Border Protection agents; Adriana Diaz reported on tornadoes in the southern Plains States; Elaine Quijano covered the Wells report on the New England Patriots; and Steve Hartman went "On the Road" with a mother-daughter duo who found a way to make chemotherapy fun.
