The Mikelsons would be a family therapist's dream. Between severe Daddy issues and a wide range of Mommy issues, these poor boys don't stand a chance. And don't even get me started on Rebekah. I think they all need one big road trip to Wally World in the family truckster. #datedreferences

Marcel, Gia and the rest of the vampires are having a good time until Aidan, Oliver and the werewolf/witch clan show up to tell them that the truce is over and they have to leave. When they report back to Esther/Lenore, Aidan is horrified to find out that she and Vincent/Finn are planning to use kids to kill humans on the night of the blood moon. Elijah continues his training of Gia and in a revolting/intimate moment, she reaches into his chest and touches his heart. Hayley walks in and is noticeably irked, but she has brought guests. Aidan is forced to join Oliver and ask Marcel and Elijah for help as one of the kids is his little brother, Nick. They agree to help the kids escape before the blood moon.

Davina, in her infinite, naive wisdom is still holding Mikel under her bracelet spell and he is over it. He informs her that she can't hide behind magic always and she needs to toughen up. (One of the few times I'll agree with Michael.) After being injured in training, she calls Kaleb/Kol for some help. He happily arrives and nurses her injury and takes the opportunity to snoop around for the White Oak. He finds it, but Mikel finds him. Kaleb/Kol agrees to help Mikel by getting the bracelet off Davina's wrist, thereby freeing Mikel. (Also, Davina, if you're hiding the one weapon in all the world that can kill THE ORIGINALS, maybe find a better hiding place than a drawer?)

Klaus is on a mission to find Davina and tracks her down through his vampire magic. Cami accompanies him on the trip and manages to sneak in a little therapy on the road. When Klaus ditches her and heads to the cabin, he sees through Davina and Kaleb/Kol's invisibility spell. In the scuffle, Kaleb/Kol gets the bracelet and frees Mikel. Finally, father vs. son, even though it only lasts a few minutes. Klaus puts up a good fight and injures Mikel but doesn't kill him. See? Therapy works! Elijah doesn't fare as well as even though the kids are rescued and Oliver and Aidan survive, Vincent arrives to cast a spell on Elijah and take him as Esther/Lenore's hostage. She wants to purify him.

So basically, Klaus has Mikel as a hostage, Esther/Lenore has Elijah as a hostage, Vincent is still Esther/Lenore's consigliere and Kaleb/Kol is, well, flirting with Davina? This family is crazy. I certainly hope that Hayley drops her attitude once she realizes how much danger Elijah is in. She has the nerve to show some jealousy when he's training Gia but won't give him the time of day otherwise? And Cami, girl, I know you're a therapist, but you need to get yourself to therapy and NOT with Finn/Vincent.

Elijah and Oliver managed to take out a lot of Lenore's little army, but I'm thinking she has reserves. And are we to believe those kids are completely out of danger now? That long goodbye gaze between Aidan and his brother, Nick seemed a little daunting. I am looking forward to the day when all 4 brothers, maybe Rebekah too, meet up with Esther and Mikel. Now there is a great family dinner. Two words: Thanksgiving Episode! (Just a suggestion.)

What I Know:

  • Josh's screen name is NoLaYOLO19. That is all.

  • Josh and Aidan chemistry is way hotter than Klaus and Cami.

  • I was expecting a little bit more of a battle royale between Klaus and Mikel. It was like "Here we go...oh, it's over?"

What I Don't Know:

  • Since when is Finn/Vincent. Cami's therapist?

  • Is Josh old enough to be drinking?

  • Does Mikel still not know that Kaleb is Kol? Does he know about Vincent/Finn? or Esther/Lenore? Or is he completely in the dark?

Lines I Love:

  • Elijah - Hayley, this city's under siege by an army of beasts following my deranged mother's every command. Now, considering it's your people who just declared war on my kind, perhaps now's not the best time for your particular brand of... sass?

  • Klaus - If Davina wants to use Mikel to kill me, we have just two options: 1 - you reason with her, 2 - I don't think you'd like two very much.

  • Mikel - Confrontation is inevitable, child. Your fear will prove to be our greatest disadvantage.

Will Klaus get to Elijah before Lenore "purifies" him? Is there some sort of misguided family trade on the way with all these hostages? Are Josh and Aidan the best modern day Romeo and Juliet since Buffy and Angel? Looks like next week we get the long-awaited and much promoted Nina Dobrev appearance as her latest doppelganger, Tatia.
