In an interview today with Entertainment Weekly, BOY MEETS WORLD creator, Michael Jacobs, opened up about his hopes for GIRL MEETS WORLD, what fans can expect, and if any former cast members will make a return.

Jacobs hopes GIRL MEET WORLD will convey "the confusions about growing up and what we are supposed to be and what we are supposed to aspire to be."

On whether or not former BOY MEETS WORLD favorites will return, Jacobs said, "I think there's more than a chance..."I think there's a strong chance." Though he won't name names, he confirms that various cast members have reached out and expressed interest.

Jacobs is most hopeful, and excited, on one certain aspect, though: "But to actually take the children of Cory and Topanga and watch on two levels [as they] grow up and as Cory and Topanga keep growing up, I can't resist that. I can't resist that and I'm very hopeful the audience won't resist it either."

Head on over to Entertainment Weekly for the full interview.

GIRL MEETS WORLD will follow Riley, the teenage daughter of Cory and Topanga, picking up over a decade after the show concluded its run on ABC in 2000. At this time, no other stars from the original series are set to return, though both Ryder Strong and Trina McGee have expressed interest.

Production on the pilot is expected to begin next month, and should GIRL MEETS WORLD be picked up to series by the Disney Channel, it's expected that the prequel series would land on the 2013-2014 season.
