BIO:
Joey Scinta, too, was a musician from the time he was a child. He says, “I noticed girls gathering around me when I played the guitar and I liked that.” The first of many local bands he played with was called The Mojos. He began to study education, with the goal of teaching music but realized after three years of college, he says, that musicians he knew were earning more than teachers, so he changed careers. He first worked with Frankie when he asked his younger brother to play keyboards with his band Top Banana.
When Top Banana disbanded, the “Scinta Brothers” continued playing in the Buffalo area and were sometimes joined by their sister Chrissi who, at the time, wasn’t old enough to play where liquor was served. So they sneaked her in through the kitchen and became “The Scinta Brothers and Chrissi.” Today, Joe plays the bass, acoustic guitar and does spot-on impressions, most notably his takes on Joe Cocker and the “Jerry” half of Dino and Jerry.
Joey Scinta is the father of Joe Jr., Nicole, Lisa, Michael, and Nicholas.
