Controversial rapper and pop culture figure Kanye West will be returning to SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on May 18 as musical guest according to a new report.

West is currently in Paris preparing the follow-up to last year's G.O.O.D. MUSIC compilation and his mega-hit collaborative album with rap mogul Jay-Z, WATCH THE THRONE.

An SNL mainstage musical performance in May on a national broadcast may allow West the prime opportunity to debut new material, which many suspect he very well may proceed to do.

Also, West's WATCH THE THRONE collaboration with Jay-Z and Frank Ocean, "No Church In The Wild", is prominently featured in Baz Luhrmann's 3D feature film adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel THE GREAT GATSBY, which will be released the week before West's appearance on the long-running NBC comedy mainstay, so he may reprise that tune, as well.

Only time will tell what West will perform, but he has proven in the past to always be consistently surprising!

West has previously appeared on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE numerous times, most famously perhaps in 2010 when he transformed the stage to an all-white abyss for a ballet troupe-backed performance of "Runaway" and also launched into an Egyptian-inspired extravaganza set to "Power" from his masterful MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY album.

So, what exactly would you like to see Kanye do on SNL in a couple of weeks?

Check out the original report on the matter here.
