In an appearance on NBC's TODAY this morning, actor Keanu Reeves said he is open to the idea of revisiting the 1989, cult film "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," co-starring Alex Winter.

"I'm open to the idea of that," Reeves revealed during a Monday morning visit to TODAY. "I think it's pretty surreal, playing 'Bill & Ted' at 50. But we have a good story in that. You can see the life and joy in those characters, and I think the world can always use some life and joy."

According to Reeves, writing has already begun for a storyline for the sequel . "Yeah, there's a story; there's a script," he said. "We're trying to get the dough together to make this crazy story." He added, "I can talk about it, but I shouldn't talk about it," he teased. "But I could talk about it, but it's ... interesting."

Reeves can currently be seen on the big screen in "47 Ronin," after a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)-a half-breed they once rejected-as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.

As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.
