According to The Daily Mail, the specialist who was present during the procedure which led to Joan Rivers untimely death last month continues to see patients.

The site reports that Dr Gwen Korovin, who was in attendance at Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic on August 28th, is still accepting new patients at her Upper East Side practice. The doctor was allegedly not authorized to perform an unscheduled biopsy on Rivers the day the comedian underwent an endoscopy procedure.

The Mail also reports that Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa Rivers, will move forward with plans to sue the throat specialist according to a friend. "It's very difficult to discuss something so unpleasant with her, but she is going to launch a lawsuit," Melissa's friend told the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Korovin's attorney, Michael Kelton released a statement to the Daily Mail, commenting, "Korovin maintains privileges at one of the city's most prestigious hospitals. She is respected and admired by her peers in the medical community and she is revered by her patients."

The legendary comedian went into cardiac arrest after her lungs collapsed during the endoscopy procedure. She was rushed to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital where she passed away on September 4th.
