Variety writes that Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) has joined Sony's upcoming sci-fi film THE FIFTH WAVE, directed by J. Blakeson from a screenplay by Susannah Grant. Chloe Grace Moretz stars in the movie adaptation of Rick Yancey's YA novel.

In THE FIFTH WAVE, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, 16-year-old Cassie (Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother (Zackary Arthur). As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie meets a young man who may become her final hope.

Revolori will play "the easygoing medic who is one of the young human rebels in the army of children who must rise up against 'the Others.'"

Also in the cast are Nick Robinson (Jurassic World), Alex Roe, Maika Monroe and Liev Schreiber.

Graham King will produce through GK Films along with Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe through his Material Pictures.

THE 5TH WAVE spent 20 weeks on The New York Times Best Sellers list and boasts 240,000 hardcover units sold, with 55,000 e-books sold. The novel was honored with the 2014 Red House Children's Book Award in the UK. The second book in Yancey's planned trilogy, The Infinite Sea, will be published on September 16, 2014.

Revolori played 'Zero' in Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel (pictured above) this year. Among his upcoming projects are Umrika, Dope, Temps and When We Were Pirates. The actor has appeared on TV in Shameless, My Name Is Earl, Entourage and more.
