Jennifer Saunders has confirmed ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS will hit the big screen - some day.

Per NewNowNext, Saunders, star of the hit BBC One sitcom, opened up about the prospect of a 'FABULOUS' film, telling UK talk show THIS MORNING that: "There isn't [a movie] but there will be. I'm close to picking up a pen, that' how close it is."

Saunders' co-star, Joanna Lumley, also told Gay Times earlier this fall that a film adaptation will most likely be happening. "I think with a little bit of, not too painful, pressure, a little bit of vice-like grip and a Chinese burn on the arm, up behind her back, I think it'll happen," she said.

'Absolutely Fabulous', also known as Ab Fab, is a British sitcom created by the 53-year old Jennifer Saunders and is based on an original idea by her and Dawn French. Saunders, who plays the leading character on show, pens the scripts as well.

The show also stars Joanna Lumley and Julia Sawalha, along with June Whitfield and Jane Horrocks. The series features Saunders as Edina Monsoon, an alcoholic, drug-abusing PR agent who spends her time chasing bizarre fads in a desperate attempt to stay young and "hip". Edina is joined in her quest by magazine editor Patsy Stone, her best friend and enabler, whose drug abuse, alcohol consumption, and promiscuity far eclipse Edina's comparatively mild self-destructive behavior.
