Dancer Marge Champion Set for Rare Live Interview at The Spiral Theater, 10/5

In celebrating a career that spans eight decades, Marge Champion steps back into the limelight to tell her story to Richard Skipper (Richard Skipper Celebrates) who interviews celebrities by broadcast, podcast, newspaper column, blog and in a live setting such as the Spiral Theater Studio, to get the essence of the artist's complete body of work. No one in Manhattan is interviewing the performer quite like Richard Skipper is today. And now Marge Champion s telling Richard her story.

The beautiful dancer Marge Champion, known well for the great team of Marge and Gower Champion in those great MGM movie musicals of the 1940s and 1950s, will tell her story of being there in that great era, who she knew, and how she knew them. And she knew them ALL!

Miss Champion is well-known to film audiences worldwide to this day. Starring with her late husband Director/choreographer Gower in "Show Boat", "Everything I Have is yours" and "Lovely to look At", the Champions became the stars of these films with their beautiful dancing as art set to music. (Gower Champion, Marge's husband, is well-remembered as the great director of "Hello, Dolly" and "42nd Street".)

There are some items about Miss Champion that you might not have known, which will make you want to learn more. For example, before teaming with Gower, Marge had a long history with the Walt Disney Studios. As a matter of fact, Marge was hired by Walt Disney as a dance model for their very first animated feature film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937). Her movements were used to enhance the animated Snow White's movements to simulate reality. She later modelled in the same fashion for the Blue Fairy in "Pinocchio", Maid Marion in "Robin Hood" and the Dancing Hippo in "Fantasia".

On Sunday, October 5th at 5:00 PM, Marge Champion and Richard Skipper will sit down at the Spiral Theater Studio to discuss Marge's vast and wonderful career and how she is doing today, at 95 years young. A Q&A with the audience and "meet and greet" follows.

In January of 2014, Richard brought cast members together from the original cast of Hello, Dolly, and the companies led by Miss Carol Channing for a two-day special event in New York.

A raconteur in the fashion of Jack Paar, David Frost and Dick Cavett, Richard Skipper has conducted on-stage interviews with Julie Budd, Carol Channing, Eileen Fulton, Jackie Joseph, Sondra Lee, Tommy Tune, Ron Young, Peggy Pope, Anita Gillette and many more luminaries.

The evening with Marge Champion and Richard Skipper will begin with a Champagne reception at 5:00 PM, and interview of Marge Champion promptly at 5:30 PM. A "meet and greet" will follow.
