ComedySportz Celebrates 24th Anniversary in Houston Tonight

ComedySportz will celebrate its twenty-fourth anniversary in Houston tonight, November 15, 2013 at 8:00pm. The performance will showcase all members of the current ComedySportz troupe as well as former ComedySportz players from all over the country.

Not comedy about sports, but rather comedy played as a sport, ComedySportz pits two teams of professional improvisors against each other to battle for points and laughs, all officiated by a wise-cracking referee. Similar to "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" ComedySportz is always fast, always funny, and always appropriate for all ages. In any given ComedySportz audience, one might see a Church group, a bachelorette party, several families, first dates and singles. All laughing at the same show!

"ComedySportz has long believed in the healing power of humor and in giving back to the community," says owner Dianah Dulany. In addition to giving out hundreds of free tickets every year to charitable organizations, ComedySportz also chooses one organization to raise donations for. The Rose has been selected for the fifth year in a row, with a raffle being planned. "As a breast cancer survivor, I know that early detection is crucial. The Rose makes that possible for so many women who otherwise might lose the battle of their life because they just weren't able to get checked." Dulany says.

The Rose is the Houston area's leading 501(c)(3) non-profit breast cancer organization providing mammography screening, diagnosis, access to treatment, and support to all women regardless of their ability to pay. For more information about The Rose, visit therose.org.
