Individual tickets to all concerts in the 2016-17 Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra season will be available on Saturday, Aug. 13. After a well-received summer season, the BPO is looking forward to a regular season full of highlights.

The season begins on Sept. 17 with the Opening Night Gala and a performance by eminent violinist Joshua Bell. The first Keybank Pops concert, "John Williams' Movie Masterworks," takes place on Sept. 24 and will be led by BPO Principal Pops Conductor John Morris Russell.

Other early highlights include U2 Symphonic Experience on Oct. 21; Police drummer-turned-composer Stewart Copeland on Oct. 28 and 29 with a piece that world-premiered earlier this year; Symphonic Spooktacular kicking off the BlueCross BlueShield BPO Kids Series on Oct. 23; and The Beatles Classical Mystery Tour on Nov. 5.

The holiday season will feature Cirque Musica's Holiday Spectacular, blending circus stunts and acrobatics with holiday music. Their national tour stops in Buffalo on Dec. 7. Classical Christmas will be led by BPO Associate Conductor Stefan Sanders and will take place on Dec. 9 and 10. The BlueCross BlueShield BPO series holiday concert is titled "Jingle Bell Jam" and takes place on Dec. 11. John Morris Russel's Holiday Pops caps off the holiday season on Dec.16,17 and 18.

Later in the season, audiences will look forward to Itzhak Perlman's Cinema Serenade on Feb. 25; the debut of Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett's symphonic show on March 3; and Midtown Men featuring the original cast of "Jersey Boys" on March 31 and April 1.

Subscriptions are still available, with packages ranging from full Pops and Classics series to five-packs and flex passes. New subscribers save up to 50 percent off the single ticket price.
