A Vietnam War widower's life tilts off course when her lost love returns years after the war and very much alive in Westley Thomas' poignant novel, "A Hard Decision" (published by AuthorHouse).

Childhood sweethearts William and Zera are deeply in love, but when William is sent to Vietnam, their lives dramatically change. Wishing for her husband's safe return, Zera anxiously waits at home while William serves his country. When Zera receives news of William's death, she is devastated.

Despite in her grief, Zera continues her life. She marries a kind man named Steve, a war friend of William's. They live a quiet life together until a phone call reveals a startling truth: William is alive. Now Zera must make the ultimate decision. Should she honor her commitment to Steve or reclaim the love of her life?

Through William's character and struggles, Thomas, a Vietnam veteran himself and an advocate of veterans' rights, renders some of the biggest challenges facing veterans today.

"I want readers to know that when a war veteran returns home they will need a lot of assistance" Thomas writes. "They will need love, help, compassion, understanding and support to overcome the obstacles they will face when making their adjustment back into civilian life."
