Virginia Llego Lund Shares History of GEORGE WASHINGTON FRANK'S STONE HOUSE

For 14 years, author Virginia Llego Lund lived in the historic mansion now known as the Frank House Museum, located on the West Campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She is now launching a new marketing campaign for her 2010 publication, "George Washington Frank's Stone House on the Nebraska Prairie" (published by Trafford Publishing).

George Washington Frank's stone house was built in 1889, designed by his son as a gift for him and his wife. In 1973, the house was registered as The Frank House on the National Register of Historic Places.

This easy-to-read architectural study takes readers through the history of the house, from its design and building through years of various owners. Lund includes copies of the original blueprints, portraits of the original owners and photos of some of the original structures of the home.

"George Washington Frank's Stone House on the Nebraska Prairie" brings readers into the 21st century as well, with extensive photography of the structure detailing the design elements of the home. Lund hopes her book inspires others to value historic buildings and landmarks.

About the Author
Virginia Llego Lund was the curator and director of the Frank House from July 1990 to October 2004. She is retired, and serves as part-time archivist. She is professionally affiliated with the Nebraska State Historical Society, the American Association for State and Local History and she is a past member of the Society of Architectural Historians.
