The Third Mumbai International Literary Festival promises to be even more exciting than the first two. This year, a record hundred plus novelists, poets, writers and thinkers will participate, of which as many as 30 will be from abroad.

Among the highlights of the festival is the felicitation of Literature Nobel Prize winner Sir Vidia S. Naipaul, who will be presented the Landmark Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tata Theatre on the 31st evening. Another much anticipated event is the Tata First Book Award, the short-list for which will be revealed just before the LitFest with the winner being announced on the last day.

The five days of the festival are packed with sessions featuring illustrious panelists and speakers like author Ashok Banker who will make a rare public appearance, Juliet Mitchell, professor of Psychoanalysis at Cambridge University, Shashi Tharoor, Shobhaa De, leading poets from England Glynn Maxwell and Ruth Padel, A Mighty Heart author Marianne Pearl, Girish Karnad, Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, Pakistani writers Mohammed Hanif, and Moni Mohsin as well as writers from Australia, Canada and Slovenia.

To attend the sessions, free day passes can be collected at the start of each day from the venue. Separate passes need to be collected for the performances. Passes are available on a first-come-first-serve basis so get to the venue before they run out!
