'The Fish Factory' By L. Gilbert Payne is Released

This time of year, when we celebrate the birthdays of past American presidents and founding fathers, L. Gilbert Payne's new book honors the brave soldiers who fought to keep our country safe when the whole world was caught in a war.

Payne's book, "The Fish Factory," tells the story of Matt Stover, a young Marine going through Special Ops training at the onset of World War II, when he is suddenly recruited for an important mission just off the west coast of the United States.

The mission takes place in the Aleutian Islands on the fictitious island of Luta in late 1942. Matt is posed with the challenge of saving a number of innocent islanders from the hands of their Japanese captors all while trying to foil their plot to bomb parts of his own country.

Readers will immediately fall in love with the main character and his uncanny ability to bring a brave positivity to any situation. He is someone you find yourself wanting to emulate in your own life.

Payne claims that writing this character was mainly a tribute to the incredible men and women who give their lives for their country every day.

L. Gilbert Payne is retired from a long career in sales and marketing in Colorado and is now fulfilling a lifelong dream of writing. He is in the process of writing his second book, a pre-World War II mystery. Payne and his wife, who have six children and 15 grandchildren together, currently reside in northern Utah where he grew up.
