TOTAL PACKAGE GIRL is Released

Girls are faced with many new challenges today, from the pressure to fit in at school to being included and 'liked' on social media and in the cyber world.

"Total Package Girl" is a new interactive book for every girl living through the challenges of growing up in the 21st century. Written by Kristi Hoffman, MS, a PBS-TV personality, CEO and 23-year Girl Scout volunteer, she's familiar with challenges facing girls today: cyberbullying, peer pressure, confidence, body image and more.

In the book, Hoffman integrates quizzes, hashtags, inspiring quotes and social media strategies that teach girls ages 11 - 17 to build key skills for life using five secret weapons developed by the author, including 'Be Your Own Detective,' 'Surround Yourself with TruBlues,' and 'Aim for Awesome.'

"This is a guide to help girls love themselves; be positive, steer clear of negative influences, feel powerful and live a fit, healthy and fun life," Hoffman said. "It helps girls build confidence, knowledge and trust in themselves, develop strong communication skills, and create a master plan for living their dreams."

From her time working in television as an on-air personality, Hoffman understands firsthand the value of having a positive body image. She also coordinated a regional effort of the first-ever "Take Your Daughter to Work Day" in the early 1990s, which inspired Hoffman to become a mentor to young women. Hoffman recently received a national appointment by Girl Scouts of the USA to National Volunteer Partner. In addition to her philanthropic work, Hoffman is a recipient of the Young Business Leadership's 20 Under 40 Award.

"A girl's self-esteem can drop around age 10, and a girl's unhappiness about her body can be solidified at that time," Hoffman said. "My goal is to help girls discover how truly amazing they are as individuals in body, brain and spirit."
